Most of the update, which follows on the heels of this July's 9.0 overhaul, concerns the software's HANA functionality. Possibly the largest update concerns the user interface, which is now much easier to customise with the ability to hide, move or add fields without much effort. It's another step in trying to make the software ideal for each individual business.

Another improvement also concerns usability: work areas are now split based on their specific roles, with finance-related areas now separate from sales, inventory and other fields. According to Steve Gouveia, Solution Portfolio Manager of SAP,

“9.1 really empowers the operational power of our users on HANA because this new work bench widget makes it much easier for business users to organize and navigate their daily operation rather than just jumping from menu to menu.”

Further updates include easier-to-navigate dashboards, the ability to factor resource costs into overall product costs and an improved inventory cost evaluation. Especially for production-based companies running SAP Business One on HANA, these updates should feel like a god-send, allowing for less time spent trying to figure out the software and more time spent actually improving the business.
