A Modern ERP for a Modern Winery

As Giesen’s operations expanded across markets and product lines, their legacy systems struggled to keep pace. Manual processes and fragmented reporting made it difficult to maintain the agility required of a modern winery. With FUJIFILM MicroChannel’s guidance, Giesen embraced Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central to simplify and modernise their operations.

The implementation included:

  • A complete restructure of their chart of accounts
  • Alignment with external logistics partners
  • Adoption of standard Business Central features
  • Integration with key systems including Vintrace (winemaking), WineWorks (bottling), and Solver (analytics)

Giesen also became one of the first wineries in New Zealand to adopt VinPoint for Wine Management, FUJIFILM MicroChannel’s industry-specific extension built on Business Central. With features like vintage management, VinPoint allows Giesen to track quantities, costs, and pricing by vintage, without the need for new SKUs.

Real Results, Vintage After Vintage

The benefits were immediate. Reporting that once relied on time-consuming spreadsheets is now available in real time. Variance analysis and cost tracking are more accurate, and teams can focus on value-added work instead of chasing down errors.
