Microsoft has announced an update to its Microsoft Customer Agreement (MCA) that will apply to all organisations using Microsoft Cloud services. The updated terms must be accepted by 7 October 2025 to ensure continued access to key subscription management features.
What’s Changing?
The MCA outlines the terms under which Microsoft Cloud services are provided. From 7 October 2025, customers who have not accepted the latest version of the agreement will no longer be able to:
- Adjust subscription quantities
- Change billing plans or term durations
- Upgrade products or services
These actions will be temporarily disabled until the agreement is accepted, which may affect access to services, particularly around renewal periods.
Who is Affected?
This change applies to all Microsoft Cloud customers, including those using Microsoft 365, Azure, and other cloud-based platforms. Organisations that do not use Microsoft Cloud services are not impacted.
What Should You Do?
Customers can accept the updated MCA directly through their Microsoft 365 Admin Portal. Until the 7 October deadline, authorised Microsoft partners may also assist with acceptance on behalf of customers, provided appropriate permission is given.
